Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I suffer ED that required medical help?

If you have difficulty obtaining erection or difficulty in maintaining it up to ejaculation in more than 50% of attempts, then you should seek help. This should be differentiated from premature ejaculation / rapid ejaculation in which one ejaculates before he wishes to, despite normal erection prior to ejaculation.

How do I tell whether ED is due to stress (work, psychological, inter-personal) requiring alleviation of that stress, or if it is sue to a bodily illness (organic ED)?

If you occasionally notice that you get an erection when you wake up and that that erection is of normal rigidity and lasts for a couple of minutes, then you probably have psychogenic ED, even if you notice that erection infrequently. Otherwise, if you are not sure, there are tests that determine the cause of ED.

Is ED treatable?

Yes. ED is totally curable, be it by medication, surgery or otherwise.

Does masturbation cause ED?

There is no scientific evidence attributing ED to masturbation, apart from the stress generated by the misconception (masturbation causing ED)

Does frequent sex cause ED?

No. However, frequent sex may gradually cause some sort of satiety, in which case, sexual drive will be less, which may cause one to think that he has weak erection and get stressed, which in turn causes ED.
